Am I understanding correctly? You spoke about Unschooling at a homeschooling convention in Chile? That is so cool. How did it go? Were people open to the idea? Did the understand how it works?

Yes, I just talk about Unschooling at the Homeschooling Annual Meeting in Chile.Thanks Kathleen!..I really don’ t know, if the people that was there was given themselves the chance to open their mind and their heart. I presented the topic in the simple way was possible. I just spoke from mine heart, very few get the idea, but so far it’s more than enough.
It was lots of resistance to just present the name of “Unschooling” in the program of the meeting in the prior days of this convention.
I’m happy that at least, I brought to some families a very different perspective of about education.

Why was there resistance to the name “Unschooling”? Does it sound very anti-education when translated, or something?

I imagine that part may be the term “Unschooling”, but many see it as something very radical. Since the HS is seen as very new, modern and revolutionary in some ways. Others, seen it as something that is practiced by savage tribes, those who have no contact with society and live in isolation. Of course, all these pre-concepts are far from reality.

Hola Isabel, tenemos a nuestra hija de 3 años, estamos informándonos sobre homeschooling, me gustaría saber si este año habrá una quinta reunión anual y dónde, para poder asistir. quedo atento, gracias

Este año está pensada una reunión de familias para finales de año. Todavía no hay acuerdo de la fecha, día y lugar, ya que tienen que presentarse diferentes propuestas y se presentará a votación. Su deseas puedes pedir la entrada al grupo de familias en Facebook que se llama Educando en el Hogar Chile.
